No, no...it's all right. I've long been accustomed to odd hours. [Just...not lately. Okay, rubbing her eyes, we are waking up now.]

What caused you to wonder so late, though?

I...don't sleep. The network gets quiet this late at night.

It's frustrating to lie idle, isn't it? I didn't ask to be here, but if they've taken us from our homes to do a job, I do wish they'd let us get on with doing it.

It's difficult to find things to fill the days and nights with. I've always been much better at figuring myself out when I had a mission...I'm no good with just sitting and waiting.

I think I understand. I know I feel better when I have...a purpose of some kind. To be honest, I felt a little lost before I came here, because I no longer had one.

[He laughs softly, almost bitterly.]

I understand that all too well. I suppose a solider is a soldier, no matter what world, huh?

I'm not certain if that's a good thing. Yet it's a little reassuring, if I'm completely honest.

Maybe, despite being worlds apart, we have more in common than you might think, at first.
